Harry Potter
A series of seven novels by J.K. Rowling, these fantasy novels are based on a boy called Harry Potter, who grows up as a student at Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry. With the help of magic, he battles the evil wizard, Lord Voldemort. Harry Potter films have been box office hits, with all releases on the list of 25 highest grossing films worldwide.
Into The Wild
This true story is written by Jon Krakauer. It starts with the discovery of McCandless's body inside an abandoned bus and retraces his travels during the two years after college. The romanticized film adaptation was focused on relationships of the character which includes his parent's conflict, his interaction with a 16 year old, and the renounced world.
Alice In Wonderland
This is a novel written by an English author called Charles Lutwidge Dodgson in the year 1865. It is the story of a girl named Alice, who falls down a rabbit hole which takes her to some fantasy world, where there are some uncommon creatures living, and the way she deals and communicates with them until she realizes that it was just a dream.
There are two movies based on the same book. One was released in the year 1999, directed by Nick Willing, and the other was released in the year 2010, directed by Tim Burton, with Johnny Depp as Mad Hatter.
Twilight
This is a series of 4 novels based on the romance of a vampire named Edward Cullen with a teenage girl Bella, and is written by an American author Stephenie Meyer. The movie is directed by David Slade.
Kite Runner
This is a novel published in the year 2003 by Khaled Hosseini, and has been adapted into a film of the same name by Marc Forster. This novel tells the story of a young boy called Amir from the district of Kabul.
The Lord Of The Rings
It is an epic fantasy novel written by an Oxford University professor J.R.R. Tolkien. The publisher decided to publish The Lord Of the Rings book in the year 1954 as three volumes containing a total of 6 books. It has been translated into various languages.
Jurassic Park
This is a science fiction novel written by Michael Crichton in the year 1990. It explains the collapse of an amusement park that has genetically recreated dinosaurs. Steven Spielberg is the director of the movie. There is also has a sequel which is based on another book by Michael Crichton called The Lost World.
The Basketball Diaries
This is a book which is written by author and a musician Jim Carroll. This is his journal between the age of 12 and 16 which covered aspects such as his sexual experiences, basketball career during high school, and especially his addiction to drugs and heroin. The movie adaptation is directed by Scott Kalvert, and stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Jim Carroll.
A Beautiful Mind
This is a book which was released in the year 1998 by Sylvia Nasar, and in the year 2001, there was an American film released with the same name and story, directed by Ron Howard, which went on to win an Oscar. The film stars Russell Crowe along with Jennifer Connelly.
