A short story is a fictional prose which is shorter than a novel or a book. Short stories are actually more difficult to write as it revolves around a single incident and it has to have the ability of captivating the reader.
Because of its length, a short story cannot be rambling or dealing with detailed descriptions. Whatever the plot maybe, the elements of a short story are clear and comprehensive while the ending of most short stories are abrupt and dramatic with a twist at the end.
