Everyone has a mix of some positive and some negative character traits, and while we’d like to believe that we have an infusion of only the positive traits, there are of course the negative traits that we all have as well. We will take you through some of the most common negative traits of character and give you a comprehensive list of the same.

We would all really like to believe that there is not a streak of negativity affecting our thoughts and vision … that whatever we are is all about ‘sugar and spice and everything really, really nice‘… that there is not a bone of negativity in our bodies. But you know (and so do we), that this is not true. All of us, each and every one of us comes with our own set of negative character traits. We can’t help it. That’s the way it was meant to be.
Here’s an extensive list of the negative character traits that are most commonly found in humans. Take these for whatever your need―either for a school project or to become aware and change the negative to positive.
An Overview of Negative Traits
While I’ll be getting into the alphabetical list of the same in the latter part of this article, let me first take you through some of the most common negative traits that make up a human.
Being selfish, looking out for one’s own gains, not sharing things with anyone else and not being sorry about it either. The world hates a selfish person and for good reason too.
Being arrogant is being egoistic. Not having any thought for what one does and how it affects others. They want things done their way and make no qualms about it whatsoever. The kind who have loud opinions and make it a point to have them displayed out like so.
Not having the basic sense, decency, and manners to talk to someone. They treat the other with absolutely no respect. And worse still, they look onto the other as someone who does not deserve respect. Which is an even worse thing to do.
If you’ve ever been angry (like raving mad) you know what it can do to you―you lose all sense of reasoning and calm and act like there is another person inside you, saying all those hurtful things and leaving someone hurt and broken. There’s just a whole lot of negativity that works around an angry person. It draws a wall between him and the other, and hinders all forms of sane communication.
Insensitivity―not empathizing with others to understand how they feel or what they are going through, only because one is so stuck on their own self and what’s going on with them. Another very bad negative trait to be harboring.
