Though the film in every way was similar to the original Snow White story, there were a few differences, like in the movie the seven dwarfs had names, while they were not named in the fairy tale.
In the fairy tale, Snow White accepts three gifts from the witch who wanted to kill her (a girdle, a poisoned comb, and the apple) but was saved by the first two gifts by the dwarfs, but in the movie she only accepted the poisonous apple.
Likewise in the fairy tale Snow White didn't come alive by the prince's kiss which is shown in the movie, rather the prince takes the coffin carrying her body from the dwarfs and during the journey to his castle, the piece of poisoned apple in Snow White's throat dislodges and she comes alive.
Also in the fairy tale, the stepmother attends the wedding of Snow White and the prince, and is forced to wear hot iron shoes till death to keep her from harming Snow white.
In the movie, it has been shown that the stepmother is chased by the seven dwarfs up to a mountain. She is the one who gives Snow White the poisoned apple. While fighting the dwarfs, a lightening strikes the mountain edge and she falls to her death.
Names and Personality Traits of the Seven Dwarfs
Grumpy is the most ill-tempered and ill-humored of all dwarfs. He has a long white beard and wears a red tunic and brown hat. Though he is tough, craggy and resistant to anything, he is also extremely devoted to Snow White.
Bashful is the most shy of all dwarfs, and is often seen in his classic pose of shyness, i.e. hands clasped behind back, shoulders slightly raised and eyes upturned. He has a short beard and wears a brownish two-tone tunic and a yellow cap.
As the name says, Sleepy is the most sleepy of all the dwarfs, having a forever sleepy look and heavily lidded expression on his face. Often confused between Bashful and Sneezy, Sleepy has a long beard and wears a green top and blue hat.
After knowing these names and descriptions, you must have had a quick view in your mind regarding how they looked and acted in the movie. So to revive your childhood memories, watch this movie again and cherish every bit of it.
