This article provides certain guidelines and sample letters that may help you understand how to write a letter of intent.
Letter writing they say is an art. Now, there could be a speculation as to how something like business letters can be a piece of art. However, letter writing can be definitely considered as an art, be it a drab business acquisition letter or a job interview letter or any kind of an ‘intent’ letter. Writing impeccable office and business letters, as well as letters to family members that are well-crafted, thought of, and full of warmth require skills. Latter though, is not going to be the matter at hand, what will be described below is a letter of intent and what is included in it. A letter of intent may be written for many different reasons.
Format of Letter of Intent
A letter of intent for a job, which is undoubtedly the most widely and commonly written, comprises the following things –
- Intended job title
- Job Interest – Conjunction between the job profile and your skill sets
- Reference to the attached resume
- Closing paragraphs
So primarily, you have to clarify the intent of writing the letter, then put forth what you have to offer, and then ask the person you are writing to consider it. This applies to any letter of intent you want to write.
